A Warning About Anaflowerheart
[January 17, 2026]
We didn’t want to write this post.
We have been done with DeviantArt since January 2nd, 2026, and we have no intention of returning. Our “reputation” there no longer matters to us: we are not selling anything, and we are no longer on platforms that require interacting with random strangers or navigating social-media politics.
That said, a friend recently alerted us to statements being made about us by a former friend, Anaflowerheart. While we would have preferred to leave the entire situation behind, we now feel a moral obligation to put this information on record and to warn others about this individual so they do not get taken advantage of in the same way.
Anaflowerheart is widely well-liked within the DeviantArt community, a community that unfortunately includes many trolls, grifters, and bad actors. We do not expect this statement to change minds or make us popular. That is not the point. This is being written because it needs to be said.

Let's set the record straight, shall we?
In May 2025, Anaflowerheart made a post saying she was struggling financially and wouldn't be able to afford to buy art on DA anymore which was one of the few things giving her happiness, so Fin ran a fundraiser specifically to help Ana, raising approximately 16,100 points ($200) through the sale of his art and transferring those points to her. The understanding at the time was that this amount would support her for a good while.

Instead, she went on a spending spree, purchasing art from multiple artists, and then continued spending points on our art and other people’s work well past the point when those points should reasonably have been exhausted. (Ana buys more than she sells by orders of magnitude, so this was not income from her sales.)
Had we known this was going to happen, Fin would not have run the fundraiser. The fundraiser was undertaken in good faith, with the assumption that the assistance provided would be used responsibly and transparently. That assumption turned out to be incorrect.
Once Fin realized he had been taken advantage of in connection with the fundraiser, he should have blocked Ana immediately. He did not, solely because he was worried about hurting her feelings, being she portrayed DeviantArt as her main social lifeline. That hesitation only prolonged the situation and worked to her benefit, not ours.
Anaflowerheart repeatedly pressured us to sell work to her at $1, framing this as something we “should” do for her as a "dear friend" who is poor, while simultaneously purchasing higher-priced works ($2, $5, and more) from other artists, spending $50-75 a day on art by other people. At the very end of December 2025, a few days prior to leaving the site, Fin and Andy raised prices to $2, but the overwhelming majority of works sold to Ana for several months prior were at a $1 price point. (Fin and Andy also offered 50% supporter discounts for a few months specifically to make things easier for Ana, so anything priced at $2 would be $1 for Ana, $3 would be a buck fifty. And yes, Andy and Fin also purchased work from each other at $1, but that was an established "hubby rate" that was never meant for the entire public.)
Many of those artists Ana supported at higher price points were people who had harassed or actively bullied us. She was fully aware that these sellers were blocked, and therefore clearly did not expect us to know she was purchasing from them.
This created a dynamic where we were treated as a source of cheap labor and emotional obligation, while our harassers were rewarded and supported. When we found out in late December 2025 (wherein we were sent multiple screenshots of the art she was buying and what price point it was purchased, and verified for ourselves by checking these pieces on private windows), this was one of the final nails in the coffin that led to our decision to leave DA.
Fin is himself disabled and lives on a fixed income. The expectation that he should undervalue his labor, sell everything for $1, and absorb financial and emotional harm for someone else’s benefit is especially egregious in that context. This was not charity being asked of someone with excess resources; it was pressure applied to someone already vulnerable.
Anaflowerheart had read and favorited Fin’s FAQ, which explicitly states the circumstances under which people are blocked. Those circumstances include close association with and financial support of people who have harassed us. Harassment on DA does not exist in a vacuum, and our harassers have brought their friends into it, so Fin did not want to continue taking chances. And when you know someone has harassed us and are still closely friendly with them and buy from them anyway while calling us "dear friend" (see further below), that is not friendship at all.
Despite having read this policy and being fully aware, she continued to purchase art from both of us after engaging in exactly the behaviors listed as block-worthy, apparently assuming we would either not notice or be too stupid to put the pieces together. We were neither.
Ana’s claim that she could not access work she purchased after being blocked is false.
DeviantArt allows users to download work they have already purchased from artists they have blocked or who have blocked them. While the image itself may be obscured on the site with a square indicating a block, the download button remains available, and the files remain accessible.
We did not block Ana on her birthday (January 1st).
- Fin deactivated his DeviantArt account on New Year’s Eve (December 31st).
- Fin reactivated on January 2nd to post his public “Goodbye DA” post explaining why he was leaving the site and to ensure Ana saw it and understood why. Here is the screenshot showing Ana favorited the post, which she would not have been able to do if she had been blocked on her birthday. (Fin took the screenshot because he had a feeling Ana would probably start talking shit, based on pattern recognition.)
- Fin blocked Ana two days later (January 4th), while visiting the site solely to collect final earnings.
The claim that this was done “on her birthday” is a fabrication designed to maximize sympathy.
Immediately after Fin and Andy left DeviantArt, Ana went directly to Skyessence1982.
This is the same person Ana claimed she had blocked because of us, and the same person who was a major reason we left the site in the first place, as explained in our Why We Left DA post. Ana also continued being friendly with and financially supporting other people she knew had harassed us, including Sofia, who sexually harassed Fin.
Running to become “dear friends” with someone she knew was sexually harassing Andy is not the behavior of a friend. Full stop.
Ana publicly referred to us as “inhuman.” That is not a neutral insult. Dehumanizing language has a long, violent history, and directed at a Jew in particular, it is especially loaded and unacceptable.
She framed the situation as us being greedy or heartless over money. In the context of Fin being openly Jewish, that framing is antisemitic, full stop, and it is made even more egregious by the fact that Fin had given her hundreds of dollars’ worth of points.
That framing is not accidental, and it is not okay.
Ana’s statement includes the line “may god forgive them,” which is not benign. This is a moral condemnation masquerading as piety, positioning herself as righteous and us as sinners in need of divine judgment. In context—paired with dehumanization, false claims, and a public sob story—it functions as an attempt to claim moral high ground while avoiding accountability for her own actions. That is not acceptable.
Furthermore, this is especially gross given that Ana is Christian, the person she directed this comment to (Steve) is Catholic, and she knows Andy is openly an ex-Catholic Pagan and Fin is Jewish: this is Christian supremacy in action, using religious language to assert moral dominance, shame outsiders, and position non-Christians as morally deficient. It is coercive, abusive, and a textbook example of spiritual bullying.
In Judaism, Fin's tradition, people are not expected to be doormats, martyrs, or perpetual victims. Setting boundaries, withdrawing from those who harm or exploit us, and refusing to allow ourselves to be taken advantage of are not moral failings; they are ethical necessities.
Framing our decision to protect ourselves as cruelty or greed fundamentally misrepresents Jewish values.
Ana regularly posts photographs of flowers that she claims are from her own garden. Some of these images are offered for sale, while others are presented as gifts to members of the community.
Ana claims to live in Canada, where growing a large and diverse assortment of flowers—of the type and volume she posts—is not trivial. Maintaining such a garden would require extensive time, expertise, and daily labor, particularly given the climate. Ana spends approximately 12 to 14 hours a day on DeviantArt, consistently and visibly active.
A friend alerted us to the fact that Ana is using stock photos and passing them off as flowers from her own garden. This pattern is consistent with other forms of misrepresentation documented above and further undermines her credibility.
[Update January 28: same friend alerted us to the fact that recently, Ana decided to provide "proof" that she really for-real has a garden and isn't using stock photos by posting a photoset of herself in her for-real-really-real-garden... except all these photos of her look like she went for a walk somewhere, perhaps a park, with vague background shrubbery--no "garden" to be seen—and in a couple, she's using a single flower (probably store-bought) as a prop, no garden. 🙄]
Ana’s claim that we blocked her out of cruelty collapses the moment anyone looks at our actual history with her. Over an extended period, we ran fundraisers for her, created gift art for her, the majority of which we purchased with our own points specifically to send her; we also sent her gifts from other artists. That is not the behavior of people looking for an excuse to hurt someone.
It also makes no sense from a purely practical standpoint. By the time we decided to leave DeviantArt on New Year’s Eve, Ana was essentially the only person buying from us other than ourselves. After Cynthia launched her “don’t buy from Fin” campaign in November, sales had already dried up significantly, compounded by knockoffs of our work being sold for two to three times our prices by people with far more exposure through groups we are not part of. Blocking our only remaining buyer for shits and giggles would have been self-sabotage.
Context matters further. Ana is extremely popular on DeviantArt, while Fin and Andy had already been making enemies after Andy’s stalker Lizzy went on the warpath in the spring and got some of her close associates to start trouble for us, and escalated further after Cynthia pulled her shit. We were fully aware that blocking Ana would make us pariahs and cost us what little support we still had. We knew exactly how bad the fallout would be, so we knew if we blocked Ana we were effectvely done on DA and there was no point on continuing to waste our time there seeking engagement.
We ourselves have purchased art from multiple people we later had to block due to serious boundary violations, including art theft, or keeping close company with our harassers and joining in the smack talk when they thought we weren't looking, or sexual harassment. That represents thousands of points lost—points Fin could have converted into PayPal earnings, and points Andy could have converted into PayPal earnings to help Fin; we sucked it up and dealt with the financial loss like adults. Caveat emptor.
Finally, we need to be clear about how blocking actually works and why it exists. Blocking exists for a reason. DA's TOS does not prohibit you from blocking someone who has purchased from you, or vice versa. In fact, when Fin reported several people to DA's abuse team with screenshots of harassing messages or comments, some of whom bought from him and/or who he bought from, if he got a response at all it started with telling Fin to block the person (who he had already blocked).
Buying art does not grant immunity to act like an asshole and then cry foul when someone enforces a boundary. This is not retail, where one must tolerate abuse because "the customer is always right". Once again, Fin had it very clearly stated in his FAQ why he blocks people, and Ana still went there anyway. She fucked around, and now she's finding out.

We did not write this out of spite, and we gain nothing from doing so. We are finished with DeviantArt and have no interest in returning, selling, or participating in that ecosystem again.
This statement exists because Anaflowerheart chose to publicly misrepresent what happened, to dehumanize us, and to present herself as a victim while omitting critical facts. We are putting the full context on record so others can make informed decisions. Proving deliberate falsehoods wrong is not "abuse" or "bullying".
Moreover, as stated above, Ana’s behavior—especially pressuring us to sell to her for $1 while claiming poverty, and spending significantly more on works by people she knew were harassing us—was the final nail in the coffin and cemented our decision to leave DeviantArt. We had already been considering leaving since June as Lizzy’s harassment escalated, and more seriously since November, but this confirmed that staying was no longer tenable. While Ana now performs victimhood and is rewarded with sympathy from the DeviantArt community, the reality is that we trusted her as a friend, discovered that she was using us, and feel deeply hurt and betrayed, especially now that she is openly friendly with Lizzy and is talking shit about us. Fin in particular has complex post-traumatic stress disorder and experiences this as yet another betrayal trauma. The impact of this has been severe enough that we are now deliberately staying inside our own bubble and are not willing to engage with other platforms that require interaction with others.
We are done engaging with this matter. This page stands as our final word.
