Birthday Countdown - 2025
I usually don't make a huge deal out of my birthday, but turning 46 hit different: it's that point where you're finally closer to 50 than 40, and you are once and for all truly "over the hill". So I decided to celebrate all the way from November 1st through my birthday on November 25th with fantasy recolors of stargazer lilies (my favorite flower), phoenixes (my Thing), and a surprise animal every day with an hourglass in the scene to symbolize the passage of time; I threw in two extra surprise animals on my birthday. The countdown phoenixes and surprise animals are growing flowers made of mystic topaz, since topaz is the Sagittarius birthstone.
I had a lot of fun doing this, enough that it influenced my decision to do my Flower of the Month and Animal of the Month series.
