Eternal Horizon
The sea does not ask
where the sky ends.
It simply meets it--
over and over again.
So it is with us.
Your hand fits mine
as if the waves shaped it--
a promise caught in motion.
We stand at the place
where light becomes water,
where distance softens
and the world is awash
in the gold of becoming.
Every sunrise redraws you.
Every sunset returns me
to the shape of your breath.
I do not know
where I end and you begin--
only that we are one
in the stillness
between heartbeats
and tide.
We are
what the horizon dreams
when it blurs its edges
to hold both
earth and sky.
And in your eyes,
I see
the whole of it--
our past,
our now,
our ever after.
where the sky ends.
It simply meets it--
over and over again.
So it is with us.
Your hand fits mine
as if the waves shaped it--
a promise caught in motion.
We stand at the place
where light becomes water,
where distance softens
and the world is awash
in the gold of becoming.
Every sunrise redraws you.
Every sunset returns me
to the shape of your breath.
I do not know
where I end and you begin--
only that we are one
in the stillness
between heartbeats
and tide.
We are
what the horizon dreams
when it blurs its edges
to hold both
earth and sky.
And in your eyes,
I see
the whole of it--
our past,
our now,
our ever after.
