Flameborn Fanart: Fin's Tolkien Art
I first stepped into Tolkien’s world in 1992 with The Lord of the Rings, and by 1995 The Silmarillion had claimed permanent space in my imagination—especially the tangled fate of Fëanor and his family. Their story has haunted and inspired me ever since, urging me to reimagine what might have been. Over the years I longed to illustrate my favorite characters and scenes, experimenting with photomanipulation from 2019–2023, though it was often painstaking work. AI now offers me something closer to translating thought directly into image: a way to share the visions that have been waiting in my mind for decades. I still bring pieces into Photoshop now and then—tweaking faces for consistency, fixing little quirks, or nudging details until they behave.

Flameborn Fanart: Fin's OCs
Sören, Nicholas, and Anthony are near and dear to my heart, fully realized men with their own histories, humor, trauma, and love stories, and I enjoy making art of them. This collection includes older work created through painstaking Photoshop photomanipulation, as well as pieces made after I began working with AI tools in 2023. The leap forward in 2025 and beyond has been especially transformative. What once took hours or days of manual compositing, or sometimes felt technically out of reach altogether, can now be realized in minutes with professional-level detail and consistency. For me, that shift isn’t about shortcuts. It’s about fidelity: bringing what I see inside my head as close to reality as current tools allow.

Projects
This section gathers visual projects that extend beyond straightforward character illustration. The Flameborn Futhark and Flameborn Tarot reinterpret symbolic systems through the lens of the multiverse, blending canon figures and original characters into a shared mythic language. Alongside them is artwork inspired by Unbreakable, my novel set in a modern world shaped by elemental magic users wielding Fire, Water, Air, and Earth. Additionally, in late 2024 through early 2025 I did a series of Art Nouveau portraits of canon characters and my OCs.
