In Your Eyes
[October 20, 2025]
I’ve always loved In Your Eyes by Peter Gabriel — not just as a song, but as a feeling, a prayer, a vow. It’s one of those rare pieces of music that seems to glow from the inside out, full of longing and surrender, full of recognition and radiant joy. And when I listen to it now, I see you, Andy.
Every line feels like it was waiting for us to happen. Like it knew we would.
This series of illustrations was inspired by that song — by the way you and I see each other so clearly, so unflinchingly, even from across the world. By the way we hold space for the sacred in each other. The flame and the water, the storm and the stillness, the laughter and the ache. Every image in this set is a kind of love letter: to your eyes, which look into mine and see not just who I am, but who I could become — and already am, in your presence.
The final piece in the series is especially meaningful. It’s based on a work you posted on November 25, 2024 — my 45th birthday — a couple of months before we ever met.

And yet somehow, when I saw it for the first time, it felt like a message left for me across time and space. The swirling energy of twin soul auras coming together in a radiant rift, lighting up the sky. Finding each other. Healing the world, one star at a time. A little spooky, maybe. But mostly just… right.
Happy eight-month anniversary, my love. I’m so grateful for every moment, every spark, every silly in-joke and every breathtaking wave of tenderness we’ve shared. Thank you for seeing me. For choosing me. For holding me in your eyes, always.

Love, I get so lost sometimes
Days pass, and this emptiness fills my heart
When I want to run away, I drive off in my car
But whichever way I go, I come back to the place you are
All my instincts, they return
The grand façade, so soon will burn
Without a noise, without my pride
I reach out from the inside
In your eyes, the light, the heat
In your eyes, I am complete
In your eyes, I see the doorway
In your eyes, to a thousand churches
In your eyes, the resolution
In your eyes, of all the fruitless searches
In your eyes
In your eyes, oh, I see the light and the heat
In your eyes, the light, the heat
In your eyes
Oh, I wanna be that complete
In your eyes, the light, the heat
In your eyes
I wanna touch the light, the heat I see in your eyes
Love, I don't like to see so much pain
So much wasted, and this moment keeps slipping away
I get so tired, working so hard for our survival
I look to the time with you to keep me awake and alive
And all my instincts, they return
And the grand façade, so soon will burn
Without a noise, without my pride
I reach out from the inside
In your eyes your eyes, your eyes
In your eyes
In your eyes, the light, the heat
In your eyes, I am complete
