A Song of Passion and Flame

Let Me Miss You
[October 2025]

I miss you...
not with storms and sorrow
but in the way the sun misses the sea at night.
Always knowing morning will come…
but aching for the shimmer just the same.

I miss the shape your laugh makes in a room.
The way your eyes crinkle
like the corners of a love note,
folded a thousand times…
and never once forgotten.

You, my gentle lord
my comet in the quiet sky
you are what I call home.

My hands remember you…
not just your skin,
but the calm underneath it.
The peace you carry like a secret
tucked behind your smile,
and slipped into my heart when I wasn’t looking.

And when I dream…
it isn’t fireworks or grand reunions.
It’s the little things.
You, curled beside me.
My fingers in your hair.
Your breath against my chest
a soft whisper of “stay.”

You are my soft place to fall,
my favourite chapter to reread,
the sigh I let out when I know I’m safe.

So, until we’re close again,
let me miss you in the sweetest ways
in songs that sound like your voice,
in coffee that tastes like mornings we haven’t had yet,
and in every quiet moment where I whisper…

“I love you.”

Like a prayer.
Like a promise.
Like the breath I’ll hold
until you’re here.

Always yours.
Always your safe place.
