Previously: Two unlikely companions - one prim and proper Elf and one unruly Werewolf - found themselves on the sands of Egypt after a night of drinking and debauchery... why a strange Portal was put in their path they did not know... but it was to be the start of an adventure they would never forget...

"Of all the stupid, bloody ideas!" Aiden growled. "Oh, there's a nice shiny orb, I had better touch it," he finished sarcastically.

The grumpy Werewolf and his Elven companion Maikafinwë (or Maika to his friends) were currently fumbling about in an Egyptian temple.

"Language, Aiden! I didn't know that the orb would turn into a portal," came the slightly anxious reply.

"You would think that a dabbler in the arcane arts would be more in tune with strange objects, Fin." Aiden smirked and continued, "And watch my language? Seriously... obviously the booze is worn off if you are going back to acting like you have a stick up your --"

"As I'll have you know," Maika interrupted, "we were being chased by a little gnome who YOU, the Big Bad Wolf, seemed afraid of --"

"Oh that FUCKING gnome." Aiden rolled his eyes.

"Yes, Grovomil or whatever you called him."

"Aye, Grovomil." Aiden folded his arms.

"What's the deal with him?"

"Long story short, there's bad blood. My clan hunted in his territory, not knowing it was his territory - there was no bloody sign or any sort of indicator these were his grounds. So he cursed us. That's why you found me by myself rather than with a pack."

"I see."

There was a long, uncomfortable silence - Maika knew what it was like to be alone, far from his own kind, and have been punished for something unfairly. Maika put a hand on his lover's arm for an instant, and then, not wanting to show too much vulnerability, Maika said, "Anyway, I thought - through the panic - that it might help us."

"Because it didn't occur to you that if we're being chased by an angry gnome throwing balls of magic at us, maybe picking something sphere-shaped off the ground wasn't the greatest idea."

"Hells." Maika bared his teeth in frustration and Aiden gave a chuckle of approval. Then Maika went on, "For all we know, the orb might have had a compulsion spell to touch it, or there might be other forces at work..." He glanced at the shadows suspiciously. "And don't call me Fin, as I've said a hundred times, that means 'hair' in my people's language --"

"Sure Fin, now shall we get a move on or do you nee to rest that delicate Elvish booty a little longer?"

"I am not delicate! I have a body count!"

"Do you now." Aiden gave him a predatory grin that turned Maika's stomach to butterflies.

"I didn't mean it like that, you incorrigible pervert." Maika scowled - for all of his nights of murder and mayhem during his mercenary days and taking "any port in a storm" to bed, nothing could have prepared him for Aiden's wolfish lust. Or his reaction to it, feeling sparks of lightning down his spine.

"Your pervert." Aiden licked his lips, then he went over and looked down a passage, not seeing his companion turning red.

"I'll follow that fine ass anywhere," Maika muttered to himself, enjoying the view of Aiden's backside. Louder he said, "Wait for me!"

Aiden smirked - his sensitive ears had heard exactly what Maika said. He was tempted to put on a bit of a show with an ass wiggle, but he slowed down nonetheless.

A horrid rattling sound came from up ahead. Aiden flicked his hand quick and a thin shimmering magical barrier came into existence. "What the fuck was that," he growled.

Maika's eyes narrowed and he moved ahead forward of Aiden, drawing a small dagger in his left hand and a ball of magic in his right. He still said nothing as he let his senses stretch out. After a few minutes he looked back at Aiden and said, "Several curses are in conflict here... there is much unrest ahead."

Aiden nodded and said "Well, we can't go back." He looked at the ball of power in Maika's hand and smirked. "If you are done holding your balls we can press on..."

"Put your puny shield away and we can squeeze through," Maika shot back.

"Watch it, you pointy-eared prick, it might not look like much but it's come in useful on many occasions."

"Oh, I'm sure it's very impressive," Maika mocked lightly.

They continued trading barbs and banter as they moved deeper into the tomb, exploring different rooms. Maika was fascinated by the hieroglyphics on the walls, and remembered with a pang the secret nights of studying Quenya, writing it in the Tengwar script. He wondered if Aiden's people had a language - they were speaking to each other in Common, and Maika quite enjoyed Aiden's accent - and if so, what the language sounded like, and if there was a written form. Maika kept those questions to himself, he'd get to know his companion better all in due time. Here and now, he was in the moment, especially when they stopped at what appeared to be a shrine to a jackal god and Aiden, the Wolf, offered a prayer of thanks.

Some time later they entered an impressive-looking room that was bathed in a strange teal light. In the centre was a sarcophagus, the two could tell it was important due to the decorations adorning it. Not to mention the treasure scattered around the room that made Aiden's eyes light up.

Before he could move, however, Maika put a hand out to Aiden's firm chest and said "Careful, melmenya, this room is probably booby-trapped."

Aiden flashed him a cocky smirk and said, "Hey, trust me, everything will be fine." Aiden carefully made his way over to the sarcophagus, his eyes constantly moving as he walked across the room.

He suddenly spotted a strange bottle next to the sarcophagus and bent over to pick it up. Maika felt his face flush again as he eyed Aiden's firm and sculpted ass through his tight pants. Maika reluctantly forced himself to look away.

His moment was spoilt however when Aiden's voice cut through, "Oi you git, stop daydreaming and get over here."

Maika sauntered over and joined his companion. "What is it, you furry beast?"

Aiden growled softly and said, "This bottle, it feels magical -- there is something strange about it."

Maika gave him an arrogant roll of the eyes and retorted, "If it's so magical, why the heck are you touching it? After you got on my case about the orb, and all --"

Aiden moved closer to him and said in a hushed voice, "Because anything magical may be the key to getting out of here." Feeling a burst of confidence, Aiden put a hand on Maika's shoulder and drew him closer. "Unless, of course, you are enjoying our time alone here in this ancient ruin."

Maika gulped nervously and with his lips inches from Aiden's, he said, "Well, we could find something better to do while we wait -- if we both wanted it..."

His lips moved to claim Aiden's but as they were about to join, the bottle suddenly glowed blue and they were both whisked away. The last sound in the tomb before they vanished was Aiden's cry of "AHHH FUCK, NOT AGAIN!!!!"
