I am that old.
I’m even old enough to remember when this song was new in the 1980s—when the music video played on actual MTV, and not as a meme.
I was there, Gandalf. I was there 3000 years ago.
So for Andy’s birthday, I did the only reasonable thing: I Rickrolled him.
The thing is… neither of us even pretend to hate this song. We love it. Unapologetically.
It’s joyful and sincere and just the right amount of ridiculous—which, coincidentally, also describes our relationship.
