A Song of Passion and Flame

Stop Being Hot Day 2026

By Fin, for Andy

On February 8, 2025, Fin saw That Picture for the first time: a photo of Andy at an Iron Maiden concert in Auckland, taken the previous September. Fin’s immediate, unfiltered response was to blurt out “stop being hot” at the screen—less a compliment than a plea to the Universe. At the time, Andy was a friend, and Fin had very firmly sworn off relationships, once in 2020 after a bad breakup and again in 2022 after a would-be FWB situation went sideways. Andy being absolutely Fin's type physically, along with intelligent, funny as hell, and talented, was not supposed to happen. And yet, for the next two weeks, Fin found himself returning daily to Andy’s DeviantArt gallery, inevitably lingering on that same photo, over and over again. It was hopeless.

As it turned out, the crush was mutual, and on February 20, 2025, we started our relationship. In 2026, we celebrate the first official Stop Being Hot Day as a fond anniversary of attraction, inevitability, and the kind of connection that refuses to be argued out of existence. Some holidays are about intention; this one is about surrender, and Fin celebrating Andy's hotness.

By Andy, for Fin

For his part, Andy did not have that first dramatic “oh no” moment. That came later, the day Fin casually called him Daddy and the universe itself had the audacity to smirk. What Andy felt at the beginning was quieter, but far more powerful: a spark.

When they first met, Andy was deep in a heavy depression. Only three weeks earlier, he had tried to end his own life. The world felt dull, distant, and difficult to reach.

Then Fin appeared on the other side of the planet, and something unexpected happened. A conversation turned into another, and then another. The spark grew. It was as if life itself had decided to breathe into him again.

Suddenly, there were clever exchanges, late-night talks, and someone who could meet him in a true battle of wits. Teasing became roasting, roasting became flirting, and somewhere in the middle of it all, Andy realized he felt alive again. Like any good Libra, he recognized the return of balance and held onto it with both hands.

So while Fin’s artwork for Stop Being Hot Day celebrates the moment he fell, Andy’s is something a little different. It is a quiet, heartfelt thank-you to the man who reminded him how to live.
