A Song of Passion and Flame

The Banana-Hatted Meerkat

Picture
“The Morning Herald”

Perched proudly in the sand, the Banana-Hatted Meerkat calls out at sunrise, his bright voice echoing across the dunes. His kin gather close, drawn to his joy, as another day begins on the open savannah.

Every dawn, the Banana-Hatted Meerkat gathers his chorus. With a hat wide enough to shade a herd of elephants and a voice like a squeaky trumpet, he sings the sun into the sky.

The other meerkats clap in rhythm, not because they’re musically inclined, but because they know breakfast begins when the last note fades.
