The Offering
Iron in his grasp,
my wrists kiss the darkened flame--
I offer my wings.
Silence shreds to moans,
each knot pulls the stars closer,
tight against my skin.
Bruised by holy fire,
I break open in his hands,
shards of want and ash.
Trust, the sharpest blade,
draws its line across my throat--
I lean into death.
In the smoking ruin,
he cradles what’s left of me--
embers in his mouth.
Flames crown my bare bones,
screaming, laughing into life,
blood-stitched, phoenix-born.
Naked in his chains,
I rise feral, burning, free--
his name, my prayer now.
my wrists kiss the darkened flame--
I offer my wings.
Silence shreds to moans,
each knot pulls the stars closer,
tight against my skin.
Bruised by holy fire,
I break open in his hands,
shards of want and ash.
Trust, the sharpest blade,
draws its line across my throat--
I lean into death.
In the smoking ruin,
he cradles what’s left of me--
embers in his mouth.
Flames crown my bare bones,
screaming, laughing into life,
blood-stitched, phoenix-born.
Naked in his chains,
I rise feral, burning, free--
his name, my prayer now.
